Sugar Skull Painting - Sugar Skull Artwork - Sugar Skull Art

This is my first sugar skull painting. Sugar skull artwork has been around for centuries. Sugar skull art, also known as Dia de los Muertos Skull Art, is used by inhabitants of Mexico and other Latin cultures. The living create beautifully decorated skulls, skeletons and trees of life to celebrate and remember their departed loved ones.

My "Sugar Skull" painting measures 12" wide x 12"  high x 1
" thick. The background of this painting is black. Then I painted a white skull in my own style and added a variety of brightly colored whimsical flowers all around and throughout the skull. I had fun with this painting even though it's not really my genre. I guess they're right when they say you never know until you try!

This original acrylic painting has a 1" painted edge so framing is not needed. A sawtooth hanger is attached to the back for ease of display. I varnished it for protection so it comes to you ready to hang. If you have any questions please feel free to ask!
